CLEVELAND, Ohio - Following a three week hiatus from competition, the Cleveland State men's golf team is back in action when the Vikings compete in the Detroit Titan Invitational on Friday and Saturday (April 13-14).

The event will be played at Prestwick Village G.C. in Highland, Mich.

"I am excited to get back out on the course and compete against other teams," head coach Steve Weir said. "The beginning of our spring schedule was extremely busy with a lot of tournaments. Now, after a few weeks off, we need to focus ourselves mentally as we prepare for the Horizon League Championship."

The 14 team field includes Canisius, Chicago State, Cleveland State, Detroit, Evansville, Ferris State, Grand Valley State, Green Bay, Humber College (Canada), Loyola (IL), Madonna (MI), Oakland, Western Illinois and Youngstown State.

CSU was last in action at the Butler Spring Invitational on March 27-28, placing third of 10 teams with rounds of 300-306 (606).

Andrew Bailey carded back-to-back rounds of 74 (148 total) to tie for sixth place overall, while Michael Klaric joined Bailey in sixth place with rounds of 73-75.

The duo, who shared medalist honors at the league championship last season, continue to lead the Vikings.

Bailey's 73.4 scoring average is tops on the team, while he also leads the team with eight rounds of par or better this year.

Klaric is second on the team in scoring average (74.3) and six rounds of par or better.

Jon Riemer (75.3 scoring average), Brendan Byrne (75.4) and Mike Balcar (77.0) have rounded out the lineup for CSU this spring.

"We have played well this spring, but I feel like we haven't put it all together at the same time yet," Weir said. "If we can go out, manage the course and limit our mistakes, I feel that we are capable of putting up some good scores."

Following the Detroit Titan Invitational, the Vikings will conclude the regular season at the Ball State EY Invitational on April 21-22, leading up to the Horizon League Championship from April 27-29 in Florida.
