CLEVELAND, Ohio - After winning the Norm Bullock Invitational on Sunday, Cleveland State sophomore Kent Monas has been honored as the Horizon League Men's Golfer of the Week. It is the first time that Monas has earned the award in his collegiate career.

The league made the announcement on Wednesday (April 8).

"This is a great honor for Kent," head coach Steve Weir said. "He really struggled on Saturday at Ohio State, but came back in a big way on Sunday at Wright State. He has been working hard to straighten some things out and hopefully we can continue to get that kind of effort out of him."

Monas carded rounds of 71-68 (139) at the invitational, defeating CSU senior Jake Scott by three shots for medalist honors.

The one-day, 36 hole event was played at the par-72, 6,787-yard Fox's Den G.C.

CSU returns to action on Saturday and Sunday, April 11-12, when the Vikings compete at the 54-hole Adidas Indiana Invitational. The event will be played at the par-71, 6,813-yard IU Championship Golf Course in Bloomington, Ind.
