Viking Linksters Finish 12th At George Washington Invitational

The Cleveland State golf team returned to action last weekend, finishing 12th out of 29 schools at the George Washington Invitational held at Swan Point Yacht & Country Club in Issue, Md., April 1-2.

The Vikes carded a 641 in the 36-hole event. McNeese State won the tournament with a 616.

Freshman Mike Bognar (Seven Hills, Ohio/Normandy) turned in a 75-79--154 to place ninth while senior Craig Hicks (Tecumseh, Ont./Belle River) finished in a four-way tie for 10th with a 78-77--155. George Washington's Thomas Blankvoort took medalist honors by shooting par at 72-72--144.

The Vikings return to action this weekend when they compete in the Ball State Invitational at The Players Club of Muncie.
