CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State sophomore James Boxley has been selected as the Horizon League Men's Golfer of the Week following his performance at the Ball State Cardinal Classic last weekend.

"This is a well-deserved honor for James," head coach Steve Weir said. "He has been working extremely hard on his game and the results really showed last weekend. Hopefully he will be able to build upon this and give us a steady presence in the top of the lineup for the next few years."

Boxley, a native of Miamisburg, Ohio, finished a career-best tied for fourth place last weekend at the 54 hole event. He opened with a 75 in the first round before coming back with a career low 71 in Saturday's second round. Boxley concluded the tournament with a 74, carding a 54 hole total of 220.

Boxley finished just one shot out of third place and two shots out of second place.

His performance last weekend allowed Boxley to cut his scoring average down to 78.3 this season in four events.

CSU is back in action on Saturday and Sunday (April 3-4) when the Vikings compete at the adidas Indiana Invitational. The 54 hole event will be played at the par-71, 6,813-yard IU Championship Golf Course.
