INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Following his second place finish at the Butler Spring Invitational earlier this week, Cleveland State junior golfer Jake Scott has been selected as the Horizon League Golfer of the Week.

"This is a wonderful honor for Jake," head coach Steve Weir said. "He had a great two days at Bulter playing in extremely harsh conditions. I expect Jake to be a contender in every event we play in this spring."

Scott opened the tournament with a one-under-par 71 and followed that with a second round 75 to finish one shot out of the lead.

It was Scott's best finish this season and the fourth time out of six events that he recorded a top-10 showing.

Scott leads the team with a 72.6 average this season, including a career-low 67 during a fall tournament at IPFW, which is tied for the third lowest round all-time at CSU.

The Vikings will return to action at the Hoosier Invitational in Bloomington, Ind. on March 29-30. The 54-hole event will be played at the par-71, 6,813-yard Indiana University Golf Course.
