Vikings in Eighth After First Round of Pirate Fall Intercollegiate

The Vikings men's golf team shot a 298 in the opening round at the East Carolina Pirate Fall Intercollegiate and currently hold eighth place in the standings. The tournament is being played at Bradford Creek Golf Course in Greenville, N.C.

Senior Christian Komsa (Tecumseh, Ontario/E.J. Brennan) and sophomore Billy Houle (Joliette, Quebec/Georges Vanier) currently reside in an 11th-place tie with first round scores of 72. Juniors Mike Bognar (Seven Hills, Ohio/Normandy) and Lyle Wilkens (Bloemfontein, South Africa/Grey College) each carded a 77 in their opening 18 holes.

Eastern Kentucky currently stands in first with a 281 while Brandon Brown of EKU and Jonathan Hill of East Carolina lead the individual standings with scores of 66.

The Pirate Fall Intercollegiate, the final tournament on the Vikings fall schedule, will conclude today.
