HEBRON, Ky. - Cleveland State shot a final round 293 and moved up two spots to finish tied for fifth place out of 15 teams at the UC Bearcat Invitational that concluded on Tuesday at the par-71, 6,855-yard Traditions G.C.
CSU's round was the fifth lowest of the day and followed the Vikings shooting rounds of 296 and 292 on Monday.
The event concluded CSU's fall schedule.
"We were putting together a really nice round and had a chance to come in at even par or under par, but had a few big numbers on the last couple of holes that cost us," head coach Steve Weir said. "Overall, I am happy with where we are at as a team and feel that we are much further ahead that where I thought we would be at this point."
Freshman Michael Balcar played his best round of the fall, carding a one-under-par 70 for the Vikings low round of the day. It allowed him to finish tied for 26th with teammate Andrew Bailey who shot an even-par 71 today.
Balcar shot rounds of 77-74-70, while Bailey shot 78-72-71 (221).
Michael Klaric was CSU's top finisher at the event, tying for 10th place at 218 with rounds of 70-71-77.
