HEBRON, Ky. - Cleveland State shot an opening round 301 and is tied for 10th place after the first round of the UC Bearcat Invitational on Monday at the par-72, 7,103-yard Traditions G.C.

The second round began on Monday afternoon, but was halted due to darkness after teams played between 14 and 15 holes. The second round will be resumed at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday with the final round scheduled to be played with tee times immediately afterward.

"We got off to a really slow start today, but we battled through and hung around to stay in contention," head coach Steve Weir said. "We were playing much better in the afternoon round so hopefully we can continue that tomorrow and move up the leaderboard."

The Vikings are tied with Bowling Green, just one shot behind ninth place Marshall (300) and two shots behind Austin Peay and Morehead State who are tied for seventh at 299.

Cincinnati and Oakland are tied for the tournament lead at 289, two shots ahead of Ball State and Northern Kentucky.

Individually, sophomore Michael Klaric shot a first round 72 and is tied for ninth place, while Drew Davidson is tied for 36th after a 75.
