CINCINNATI, Ohio - Michael Klaric shot rounds of 70 and 71 and is tied for third place at one-under-par 141 after the first two rounds of the UC Bearcat Invitational that was played on Monday at the par-71, 6,855-yard Traditions G.C.
As a team, Cleveland State is in seventh place out of 15 teams after rounds of 296 and 292.
"We were pretty steady all day today, but made a few mistakes along the way that cost us some shots," head coach Steve Weir said. "I think we improved as the day went on and posted a better number in round two, but I think we still have a good round in us.
"Michael played great today. He had a very solid ball-striking round and it was great to see him put together solid back-to-back rounds. We'll get some rest tonight, come back out tomorrow and see what we can do. It's our last round of the fall, so hopefully we can put together a low round and head into the winter on a positive note."
Sophomore Brendan Byren is tied for 26th place after rounds of 72 and 75, while Andrew Bailey is tied for 42nd, coming back with a 72 after a first round 78.
The 54-hole event concludes with the final round on Tuesday morning.
