NEW KENT, Va. - Cleveland State posted a final round 316 to remain in seventh place at the William & Mary Joe Agee Invitational. Freshman Doug Barber (Willoughby, Ohio/Willoughby South) finished tied for 16th after carding three rounds in the 70s. Rutgers bested the 17-team field with a three round total of 871 at the 6,967-yard, par 72 Royal New Kent Golf Club.

"I can't say enough about how consistently Doug played this week," CSU head coach Tom Porten said. "Even when the wind picked up today, he hung in there and turned in a solid round. As a team, we were just a couple of shots away from finishing in the top five for the third straight week."

Sophomores Mike Rutgers (Kingsville, Ontario/Cardinal Carter) and Ben Grandy (Southgate, Mich./Gabriel Richard) tied for 17th at 227.

Towson's Alex Brueggemann held on to the lead with a 75, completing his wire-to-wire stay at the top of the leaderboard following an opening-round 67. His two-under, 214 was one shot better than William & Mary's Tim Pemberton and Towson's Jeff Castle.

Host William & Mary finished six strokes back of Rutgers, while Towson was in third at 881.

Cleveland State is in action again on Oct. 11-12 when the Vikings travel to the Greg Palmer Classic in Morehead, Ky.
