BEACHWOOD, Ohio - Freshman Andrew Bailey fired rounds of 72-71 (143) and is tied for third place after the first two rounds of the Telich Sun Life Financial/CSU Invitational on Monday.

The 54 hole event is being played at the par-71, 7,012 yard Canterbury G.G.

CSU shot rounds of 297-294 (591) and is in fifth place in the team standings.

Malone leads at 581 and is followed by Oakland (587), Austin Peay (589), Wright State (590) and CSU.

"We put together two decent rounds today and got ourselves in the hunt," head coach Steve Weir said. "We started off pretty well both rounds, but didn't finish strong. We have to find a way to sustain some of that momentum and finish better."

Bailey, who made an eagle and six birdies in his 36 holes, is just two shots off the lead, which is held by Malone's Justin Lower who shot 71-70 (141).

CSU's Michael Klaric rebounded from a first round 77 with a second round 70 and is tied for 14th place at 147. He moved up from a tie for 41st after the first round.

The final 18 holes are scheduled for Tuesday with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
