TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. - Cleveland State opened with rounds of 292 and 293 on Saturday at the Spartan Invitational. The two-day, 54-hole event is being played at the 7,100-yard, par-71, Kingsley Club.

"I feel like we are getting closer to putting it all together, but we still made a lot of little mistakes that hurt us today," head coach Steve Weir said. "We missed a lot of putts and those will always add on to your score. We need to stay mentally tough and play our games and things will start to click here soon."

Junior Kent Monas was the Vikings top finisher today, carding a pair of 72's for a two round total of 144. Senior Kyle Cobb was four shots back at 148, following rounds of 75 and 73.

The event concludes on Sunday (Sept. 21) with the final 18 holes beginning at 9:30 a.m.
