HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - Cleveland State shot a 308 for the second straight day and maintained its lead after two rounds of the Horizon League Championship which is being played at the par-72, 6,933-yard Mission Inn Resort.

CSU will enter Sunday's final round with a three shot lead over Detroit, which is at 619 following rounds of 314 and 305.

Loyola is in third place at 630 (315-315), while Valparaiso and Wright State are tied for fourth place at 631. Both teams followed opening round 313's with 318 today.

Green Bay is in sixth place at 633 and is followed by Youngstown State (634) and Butler (635).

"We still didn't have our best stuff today, but were able to maintain our lead and that was one of the goals coming into today," head coach Steve Weir said. "We have one more round tomorrow and we have to come focused and ready to play our style of golf because this thing is far from over. We'll get some rest tonight, work on a few things we want to improve and come out ready to go tomorrow."

CSU has been able to maintain the lead over the first two rounds thanks to the play of freshman Andrew Bailey and sophomore Michael Klaric who are first and second, respectively, on the leaderboard.

Bailey followed yesterday's 71 with a 77 today to come in with a 36 hole total of 148. Klaric is at 149 with rounds of 75-74, including three birdies on the final five holes today.

"Both Andrew and Michael have played well the first two rounds," Weir said. "They have to come out with the same mental focus tomorrow."

Senior Kent Monas is tied for 14th at 158 (80-78), while senior Drew Davidson is tied for 23rd at 162 (83-79). Senior Pat Elber is tied for 32nd at 166 (82-84).

"We know that there is still work to be done tomorrow and every shot is going to be important," Weir said.

The final round of the league championship will be played on Sunday (April 23).
