MUNCIE, Ind. - Cleveland State shot a final round 373 and finished tied for fourth of 15 teams at the EY Ball State Invitational on Sunday afternoon.

The 54-hole event was played at the par-70, 6,438-yard Delaware C.C. and was the final tournament of the regular season for the Vikings. The tournament featured six players with the low five scores counting, but CSU played with just five players, making the tie for fourth place that much more impressive.

The Vikings finished ahead of the other four Horizon League teams in the field in advance of this weekend's league championship.

CSU finished with a three round total of 1,115 (375-367-373), tied with Eastern Kentucky and just two shots behind third place Ball State.

The Vikings were consistent from top to bottom on Sunday as Michael Balcar fired a 73 to lead the squad and each of the other four golfers shot 75.

Balcar's 73 was his third straight of the tournament, helping him finish ninth overall with a 219 total.

Jon Riemer was just one shot behind in 10th place, shooting a 75 today to follow yesterday's rounds of 73-72. Andrew Bailey tied for 11th place with a 221 total (74-72-75).

Louisville won the tournament at 1,090, while Austin Peay was second (1,100).

The Vikings will be back in action from Friday through Sunday when CSU competes in the Horizon League Championship in Florida. CSU is the defending league champion and has won three of the last four league titles (2008, 2009, 2011).
