WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Cleveland State senior Jake Scott fired a final round four-under-par 68 and finished seventh overall at the Boilermaker Invitational on Sunday.

The two-day, 54-hole event was played at the par-72, 7,162-yard Kampen Course at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex.

Scott's 68 was the second lowest round of the day, trailing only Wisconsin's Dan Woltman who shot a 67 en route to medalist honors at 207 (67-73-67).

Scott carded rounds of 74-73 on Saturday and finished with a three-round total of 215.

As a team, CSU shot a 294 on Sunday, its lowest round of the event after opening with rounds of 304 and 300 yesterday. That allowed the Vikings to move up two spots and finish 13th overall out of 18 teams with an 898 total. CSU was just one shot behind IUPUI (878) who finished in 12th.

"We battled some tough conditions today so overall, I was pleased with how we played and really hung in there," head coach Steve Weir said. "This was a very talented field and a great event to get us ready for next week's league championship. Hopefully we will be able to maintain this level of confidence as we get ready to defend our title."

Illinois (855) won the team title by one shot over Penn State (856).

The Vikings will be back in action on Monday and Tuesday, April 27-28, when CSU defends its Horizon League Championship at the league tournament. The 54-hole event will be played in Lexington, Ky.
