Billy Houle Tied For First At Bullock Collegiate Classic

Fairborn, Ohio - Senior Billy Houle carded an opening round 70 Sunday for share of the lead at the Bullock Collegiate Classic. As a team, the Vikings combined for a fourth-place 311 at the par 72, 7,007 yard Greene Country Club.

Houle's two-under-par score put him in a tie with Brandon Brown of Eastern Kentucky for the tournament lead. The 70 also ties a career low round for him, marking the fifth time he has posted a 70 in his two seasons at CSU.

Junior Jim Weikamp finished the first day six strokes off the lead with a 76, while freshmen Mike Rutgers and Ben Grandy recorded rounds of 82 and 83, respectively.

Eastern Kentucky combined for a tournament-low 297 to hold an eight-stroke edge over second-place Longwood University (305).

The Bullock Collegiate Classic concludes with 36 holes on Monday, April 19.
