AVON, Ohio - Cleveland State put itself in a position to challenge for its first tournament title of the year, carding rounds of 307 and 324 (631) to stand just four shots behind Detroit at the Joe Cole/CSU Invitational. The Vikings have three golfers in the top five following a blustery 36 holes on Monday at the par 72, 6,816-yard Red Tail Golf Club.

The Titans put together rounds of 306-321 for a 627, while Oakland is at 636 (319-317) -- just five shots behind CSU.

Oakland's Brian Stuard fired a 69 in the morning round en route to posting a 146 (+2) for the day. He is seven shots clear of Detroit's Sean Hutchison, who is in second place at 151. Viking golfers claimed the next three spots, with Mike Rutgers at 154 (74-80), Ben Grandy at 156 (75-81) and Bill Schaefer (playing as an individual) rounding out the top five at 157 (80-77).

Final round tee times for the seven teams will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday and run through 10:20.
