Vikings Tied For Fourth at Greg Palmer Eagle Classic

Morehead, Ky. - Through one round at the Greg Palmer Eagle Classic, the Cleveland State men's golf team stands tied for fourth after carding a 312 Monday at the Eagle Trace Golf Club. The second round of the tournament was cancelled due to unplayable conditions at the Eagle Trace Golf Club, shortening the scheduled 54-hole invitational to 36 holes to be completed Tuesday.

Junior Jim Weikamp and freshman Mike Rutgers shot opening rounds of 77 to pace the Vikings and end the day in a 13th-place tie. Senior Mike Bognar and freshman Ben Grandy trailed Weikamp and Rutgers by two shots, finishing the first round in a tie for 27th with a 79, while senior Billy Houle carded an 84.

Host Morehead State stands tied for the lead with Murray State with rounds of 298, while Murray State golfer Jamie Frazier leads all individuals with a 69.

The tournament will conclude Tuesday with a shotgun start at 10:00 a.m. EDT.
