Men's Golfers Finish 15th At Ball State Invitational

The Cleveland State Men's golfers traveled to Yorktown, Indiana over the weekend to compete in Ball State Invitational held at the Players Club. The team shot rounds of 325, 313, and 323 for their 15th place score 961.

Sophomore Christian Komsa (Tecumseh, Ont./E.J. Brennan) tied for 39th overall with his team-leading score of 235, with rounds of 81, 76, and 78. Senior Craig Hicks (Tecumseh, Ont./Belle River) finished only one stroke back of Komsa with a score of 236, and tied for 42nd. Freshman Mike Bognar (Seven Hills, Oh./Normandy) finished in a tie for 62nd, totaling a score of 243 over the three rounds. Sophomore P.J. Myers (Westlake, Oh./St. Ignatius) placed just four strokes behind Bognar with a 70th-place score of 247, and senior John Hudson's (Seven Hills, Oh./Parma) score of 263 earned him a tie for 76th.

The Ball State University linksters won their home tournament, shooting impressive rounds of 298, 298, and 295 to finish with a 891 and a full 14 strokes ahead of second-place finisher Ferris State. BSU golfer Brian Lassiter helped lead the Cardinals to the win by carding a first-place score of 217, with rounds of 70, 75, and 72.

The CSU Men's Golfers will next see action April 13-16 when they host the Cleveland Energy Resources/Cleveland State University Invitational, held at Dornoch Golf Club in Delaware, Ohio.
