Penhook, Va. - The Cleveland State men's golf wrapped up the second and final round of the Liberty Spring Classic Tuesday, carding a 302 to post a third-place score of 612. The Vikings finished only six strokes out of first at The Waters Edge Country Club.
Senior P.J. Myers (Westlake, Ohio/St. Ignatius) was the top Viking finisher for the second time this spring, carding a 75-74---149 to tie for second overall. Senior Christian Komsa (Tecumseh, Ontario/E.J. Brennen) trailed Myers by only two strokes, taking seventh with a 76-75---151, while sophomore Cody Harris (Tecumseh, Ontario/St. Anne's) placed eighth with a 76-76-152.
Host Liberty University won the tournament with a 305-301---606 and edged James Madison University for first place by two strokes. Jay Woodson of JMU carded a 75-67---142 to take individual medalist honors.
The Vikings are in action again on April 7-8 when they take part in the Belmont Intercollegiate in Franklin, Tenn.
