GOODYEAR, Ariz. - Cleveland State continued play on Friday at the Desert Shootout, carding a second round 296, at the par-72, 7,105-yard Palm Valley Golf Course.

"We didn't play as well as we are capable of playing, but we are battling the flu bug," head coach Steve Weir said. "We didn't get anything going at all for the second straight day. This is a fairly easy course, but we just haven't been able to take advantage of it. Hopefully we can get a good nights rest and come back with a solid round tomorrow."

Patrick Elber and Jake Scott led CSU on Friday, firing rounds of one-over-par 73, while Derek Williams added a 74.

CSU will conclude play at the Desert Shootout when the Vikings compete in the final round on Saturday, March 21.
