The 2004-05 season will mark Joe Denton's fifth as an assistant at Cleveland State. Denton primarily works with the women's team, traveling with the squad to tournaments and instructing at practices. Upon retiring, he immediately entered the golf profession by serving as an instructor and assistant professional at Brookledge Golf Course in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and, in 1990, was hired as an assistant professional at the Sharon Golf Club in Sharon Center, Ohio. He will begin his 15th season this spring.

Meanwhile, Denton completed all of the requirements to be a PGA professional in 1998, and he has advanced his skills by directly studying under several of the top 100 instructors in the country.
