Cleveland State Men's Golf Finish Flyers Invitational in Fifth Place

DAYTON, Ohio -- Junior Jonny Filler and senior Zach Robbins each finished in ninth place to lead Cleveland State to a fifth-place finish at the Dayton Flyer Invitational on Tuesday at the NCR Country Club South Course.

TOURNAMENT RECAP
Filler added a round of 75 on day two to record a cumulative score of 216, while Robbins fired a third round of 73 to finish with an identical score of 216.

Led by Filler and Robbins, Cleveland State finished the invitational tied in fifth place among teams. The Vikings shot 298-290-295, good for a team score of 883. Wright State was the team winner with an aggregate score of 848. Bryce Haney of Wright State collected medalist honors with rounds of 70-71-68.

Junior Gunnar McCollins posted rounds of 75-72-74 to earn a 20th place finish in the tournament.

Jules Blakely rebounded nicely by shooting a round of 73 on day two. The senior earned a total score of 230 and finished the tournament tied in 48th place.

Jack Hanus tallied rounds of 84-81-78 to finish the tournament in a 62nd-place tie.

Senior Zak Supelak turned in a strong individual performance with rounds of 78-71-74, good for 25th place. David Laib also competed individually and recorded rounds of 74-78-77, landing in 48th.

The Flyers Invitational was the Vikings final tournament of the fall, and Cleveland State will return to the course in the spring.
