Vikings Continue Spring Season at Wright State Invitational

CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland State men's golf team will participate in the Wright State Invitational beginning on Sunday (April 14) in its final tune-up prior to the Horizon League Championship.

The Vikings are coming off of a record-breaking performance at the Wildcats Spring Invitational in their last tournament on April 8-9. Cleveland State shot a 270 on the second day of the tournament, which broke the school record for a round under par and also tied the school record for the lowest-ever round.

Zach Robbins, who was selected as the Nike Horizon League Golfer of the Week, blistered the course on day two as he carded a six-under par 65 and finished tied for third overall. Anton Krecic also shot a 65 on day two and finished tied for 18th overall.

The 54-hole tournament will be played at the Heatherwoode Golf Club in Springboro, Ohio and feature 12 teams. Cleveland State, Wright State, Ohio, Wittenberg, IUPUI, Purdue Fort Wayne, Butler, Valparaiso, Indianapolis, Northern Kentucky, Green Bay and Robert Morris will comprise the field for the tournament.

Following his career-best round of 65, Robbins tops the Vikings with a 74.4 scoring average. He has two top-five finishes and three top-20 finishes on the season.

Zak Supelak, who was tied for seventh at the Wildcats Spring Invitational, ranks second on the team with a 74.8 average. He has two top-10 finishes this season and shot a season-best round of 67 last time out.

Krecic ranks third on the team with a 75.2 average, while Jules Blakely is fourth on the squad with a 75.5 average.

Jack Hanus is averaging 76.7 per round, while Miles DeMuesy averages 78.6 per round.

Following the Wright State Invitational, Cleveland State will participate in the Horizon League Championship on April 21-23.
