Vikings Finish Third at EKU Intercollegiate

RICHMOND, Ky. - Cleveland State shot a final round 292 and finished third of 18 teams at the EKU Intercollegiate sponsored by Raising Cane's that concluded on Sunday at the par-70, 6,623-yard University Club at Arlington.

FORE THINGS TO KNOW
• The Vikings opened the tournament on Saturday, carding a first round 285 and firing a school record round of 270 in the second round. It shattered the old school record by seven shots as CSU finished with a 54-hole total of 847.
Anton Krecic led the 100 player field with 41 pars over the tournament, while Nick Infanti tied for second with 40 pars.
Blake Prince led the field in par-three scoring, playing the par-three holes in three-under-par, while Prince and Joey Krecic totaled 11 birdies over the two days, tied for the fourth most in the field.
• Host Eastern Kentucky won the title with a 54-hole score of 828, while Ohio was the runner-up at 842.

INDIVIDUAL HIGHLIGHTS
• Senior Patrick Luth was CSU's top finisher for the third time in as many events this fall, tying for 12th place with a 211 total. Luth shot a 73 today after back-to-back rounds of 69 on Saturday. In his nine rounds this fall, Luth has shot par or better seven times.
Infanti and junior Blake Prince also posted top-20 finishes as Infanti shot 72-68-72 (212) to tie for 16th place, while Prince tied for 18th place with rounds of 72-66-75 (213).
• Junior Joey Krecic tied for 25th place with rounds of 72-67-75 (214), while sophomore Anton Krecic shot 76-73-72 (221) and tied for 61st place.

UP NEXT
The Vikings will be back in action on Oct. 3-4 when they host the CSU Invitational at Barrington CC in Aurora, Ohio. The field will play 36 holes on Monday (Oct. 3) with the final 18 holes on Tuesday (Oct. 4).
