HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla., - Cleveland State sophomore Joey Krecic was named to the men's golf All-Horizon League first team and Steve Weir was tabbed the Coach of the Year as the League announced the awards at the banquet on Thursday night on the eve of the League tournament.

This season the coaches changed their All-League format from one seven-member team to a five-member First-Team and a five-member Second-Team. 

Krecic is making his first appearance on the all-league team after leading the team with a 73.4 scoring average.

Krecic won two events this, year, becoming the first CSU golfer to win multiple events in a season since Andrew Bailey won three times in 2013-14. Krecic, who has 10 rounds of par or better this year, has posted four top-five finishes overall.

Weir was honored as the Coach of the Year for the fourth time, also earning the award in 2008, 2009 and 2011.

This year, Weir led one of the most balanced squads to five top-two finishes, including a win at the Villanova Wildcat Invitational. It was CSU's first in-season tournament title in two year. Weir has guided CSU to four straight top-two finishes heading into the League tournament.

Krecic, Weir and the Vikings open play in the Horizon League Championship with the first round on Friday morning.
