MUNCIE, Ind. - Cleveland State posted its fourth straight top-two finish, claiming runner-up honors at the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational that concluded on Saturday at the par-70, 6,438-yard Delaware Country Club.
The Vikings carded a final round 367 to finish seven shots behind host Ball State. CSU shot 362 and 364 on Friday, finishing with a 1,093 total.
The event featured six players for each team with the top-five scores counting.
CSU had three players place in the top-eight, including the duo of Paul Minko and Anton Krecic tied for fifth place and Patrick Luth finished eighth.
Krecic finished a strong tournament with a final round 71 after rounds of 72 and 73 yesterday to finish with a 216 total. Minko matched that 54-hole total with rounds of 74-68-74.
Luth carded a final round 76 after shooting 72-69 yesterday to post a 217 total.
Blake Prince tied for 26th place overall with rounds of 72-77-74 (223), while Mitchell Moore shot 75-77-72 (224) and tied for 31st place. Joey Krecic tied for 51st with rounds of 72-79-79 (230).
The Vikings return to action from Friday through Sunday (April 22-24) at the Horizon League Championship in Florida. CSU is the two-time defending champion and has captured six of the last 10 League titles.
