Prince Named Horizon League Men's Golfer of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State sophomore Blake Prince (East Liverpool, Ohio) has been named the Horizon League Men's Golfer of the Week for his performance earlier this week.

Prince helped the Vikings claim the Villanova Wildcat Invitational title, which was played on Monday and Tuesday (March 28-29) at White Manor CC in Malvern, Pa. He was CSU's top finisher at the event, tying for third in the 113 player field with rounds of 72-74 (146), finishing just three shots behind the medalist and one shot behind the runner-up.

Prince's rounds helped the Vikings claim their first team title since the 2015 Horizon League Championship and the team's first in-season tournament since the Vikings won the John Piper Intercollegiate from Sept. 17-18, 2012, in Bowling Green.

CSU was tied for eighth place after shooting a 302 in Monday's first round, four shots out of second place and 13 shots out of the lead. However, Prince's 74 helped the Vikings to a final round 291 on Tuesday, the lowest round of the day and the second lowest of the tournament as CSU won the event by six shots.

Prince and the Vikings will return to action on Monday and Tuesday (April 4-5) at the Wright State Invitational.
