CSU in Third Place After First Round at Dayton; Joey Krecic in Second Place Overall

KETTERING, Ohio - Joey Krecic shot a first round 73 to lead the Cleveland State men's golf team to a first round 309 and the Vikings are in third place of 15 teams at the Dayton Flyer Invitational that began on Monday.

The event is being played at the par-71, 7,055-yard NCR South Course.

Oakland took the first round lead after a 303 and holds a four shot lead over second place IUPUI, which shot 307. The Vikings are six shots behind Oakland at 309 and is followed by Northern Kentucky (310), Detroit (311), Evansville and Valparaiso (312), Butler, IPFW and Morehead State (313), Youngstown State (315), Dayton (317), Loyola (Ill.) (319) and St. Bonaventure and Robert Morris (322).

Krecic's round included an even-par 36 on the front nine and is three shots behind first round leader Austin Winings of IUPUI who shot a 70.

Blake Prince, who also shot an even-par 36 on the front nine, is tied for seventh place after a first round 75 to give the Vikings two players in the top-10.

The final round will take place on Tuesday morning.
