AURORA, Ohio - Cleveland State shot a final round even-par 288 and finished fifth of 13 teams at the CSU Invitational that concluded on Tuesday at the par-72, 7,138-yard Barrington GC.
The Vikings opened the tournament with rounds of 290 and 299 on Monday and were tied for fifth place after the first two rounds, finishing with a 54-hole total of 877.
Joey Krecic led the Vikings, tying for 21st place overall with a 220 total (73-74-73), while Patrick Luth and Blake Prince both tied for 24th place. Luth carded a two-under par 70 today after rounds of 76-75 yesterday, while Prince followed Monday's first round 69 with rounds of 77-75.
Mitchell Moore tied for 32nd place overall (72-78-73 - 223), while Paul Minko rebounded from a first round 79 with rounds of 73 and even-par 72 to tie for 38th place at 224.
Kent State won the team title at 847, using rounds of 275 and 276 to close the tournament after a first round 296.
Oakland was second at 867, while Dayton (868), Bowling Green (869) and CSU (877) rounded out the top-five.
Youngstown State's Brandon Pluchinsky fired a final round seven-under-par 65 to climb to the top of the leaderboard and claim medalist honors with a 208 total. He shot 70-73 on Monday.
The Vikings will close the fall season on Oct. 19-20 when CSU competes at the Dayton Flyer Invitational.
