Luth Cards Career Low 69 at NCAA Regionals

BREMERTON, Wash. - Cleveland State sophomore Pat Luth shot a career-low 69 to help Cleveland State move up one spot to 13th place after the second round of the NCAA Regionals that continued on Friday at the par-72, 7,168-yard Gold Mountain G.C.

Luth's previous career best round at CSU was a 70. It also tied the lowest round by a CSU player at the NCAA Regionals, equaling Andrew Bailey's 69 in the second round of last year's regional at Rich Harvest Farms G.C.

Luth's three-under-par round helped the Vikings post a second round 291, the lowest round for CSU in an NCAA Regional in school history. The Vikings are playing in the regionals for the sixth time in the last 10 seasons.

Luth bogeyed two of his first three holes to start round two, but used birdies on the 13th and 14th holes en route to an even-par 36 on his first nine. After five straight pars to open his back nine, Luth birdied three of his final four holes to shoot a 33 on his inward nine.

Junior Paul Minko shot an even-par 72 today, making a birdie and bogey on his first nine and two birdies with a double bogey on his final nine.

Michael Balcar and Mitchell Moore both shot 75 today, while Joey Krecic shot 77.
