Men's Golf Maintains Lead at Horizon League Championship

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - Cleveland State maintained its lead at the Horizon League Championship, carding a second round 304 and building a two-shot lead over Oakland heading into Sunday's final round at the par-72, 6,814-yard Mission Inn Resort.

CSU has a 36 hole total of 597.

Oakland, which trailed CSU, 293-294 after Monday's first round, carded a second round 305 for a 36 hole total of 599.

Wright State, which shot Saturday's best round with a 301, is in third place at 606 and is followed by Valparaiso (610), Youngstown State (613), Green Bay (619) and Detroit (626).

Michael Balcar fired his second straight one-over-par 73 and is in second place overall with a 36 hole total of 146, two shots behind Oakland's Evan Bowser (73-71). Balcar started his round today with a birdie on the opening hole, a par-five, and made four birdies and five bogies on the day.

Mitchell Moore shot a 76 today and is in fourth place overall at 148 (72-76), while Paul Minko and Joey Krecic are tied for 12th place overall at 152. Minko shot 79 today, while Krecic carded a 77.

Pat Luth shot 78 today and is tied for 32nd place overall at 162.

The final round of the championship will be played on Sunday with the first tee time at 7:30 am.
