Vikings To Compete at Wright State Invitational

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State men's golf team returns to the course at the Wright State Invitational on Sunday and Monday (April 5-6).

The event will be played at the par-71, 6,643-yard Miami Valley Golf Club.

CSU was last in action at the William & Mary Invitational on March 24-25, finishing 19th of 30 in the deep field. Freshman Joey Krecic was the Vikings' top finisher, carding a 54-hole total of 220 (75-72-73) to tie for 36th place in the 157 player field.

Krecic's 74.8 scoring average is second on the team and he is also tied for third on the squad with two rounds of par or better. That includes a season-best 69 in the first round of the spring season at the Wexford Intercollegiate in February.

Sophomore Pat Luth sports a 75.1 scoring average and has two top-five finishes this year. He has been in the top-20 in five of the eight tournaments he has played in this season. Mitchell Moore is close behind Luth with a 75.3 scoring average and has CSU's low round of the season with a 65 during the fall season. It is the second lowest 18 hole round in program history.

The Vikings conclude the regular season slate at the Penn State Rutherford Invitational on April 18-19, leading up to the Horizon League Championship in Florida from April 24-26.
