OLEAN, N.Y. - Paul Minko shot a career-low four-under-par 66 to help Cleveland State card a 286 and put the Vikings in fourth place out of 12 teams after the first round of the 26th Annual Leo Keenan Invitational that opened on Sunday at the par-70 Bartlett Country Club.
Minko, whose 66 is tied for the third lowest round in school history, carded a 33 on the front and back nine. He is just one shot off the lead, held by Ryan Prokay of Robert Morris and Stewart Gray of LIU-Brooklyn.
As a team, the Vikings sit just five shots behind Robert Morris, who leads the event after a first round 281. Humber College is second at 283, while LIU-Brooklyn is one shot ahead of the Vikings at 285. CSU and Drexel (287) round out the top five.
Michael Balcar and Patrick Luth both shot 73 and are tied for 27th place, while Mitchell Moore is tied for 33rd after a 74.
The final round of the event will be played on Monday.
