Vikings, Moore Finish as Runner-Up at Turning Stone Intercollegiate

VERONA, N.Y. - Cleveland State shot a final round two-over-par 290 and rode a runner-up individual finish from Mitchell Moore to claim second place at the Turning Stone Intercollegiate that concluded on Monday.

It's the second straight season that CSU finished as the runner-up at the event, which was played at the par-72, 7,015-yard Kaluhyat G.C.

CSU finished with a 54-hole total of 880, besting third place Detroit by 25 shots. Host Missouri won the event with an 870 total.

Moore tied for runner-up honors with a 54-hole total of even-par 216 (76-67-73), three shots behind medalist Ryan Zech of Missouri.Moore's second round 67 was the low round of the tournament.

Monte Mullen of Central Connecticut State shared runner-up honors with Moore.

Michael Balcar tied for sixth place at 220, lowering his score in each round. After a first round 77, Balcar shot even-par 72 and finished with a one-under-par 71 today.

Joey Krecic carded rounds of 73-78-72 (223) to tie for eighth place, while Pat Luth tied for 14th place at 227 (81-72-74). Blake Prince tied for 21st place at 230 (78-75-77).

CSU is back in action at the Marshall Invitational on Sept. 8-9.
