SUGAR GROVE, Ill. - Cleveland State carded a final round 307 and placed 10th of 14 teams at the NCAA Sugar Grove Regional that concluded on Saturday at the par-72, 7,151-yard Rich Harvest Farms G.C.

The 10th place finish at regionals is the best in school history.

Freshman Pat Luth led the Vikings today with a round of 74, improving on each day at regionals. Luth tied for 40th place with rounds of 81-77-74 (232).

Senior Andrew Bailey concluded his career by tying for 15th place overall with a 54-hole total of 223 (76-69-78). Bailey concludes his CSU career with the lowest scoring average in school history (73.5), while his 72.3 scoring average this season was the tops in CSU history.

Junior Michael Balcar tied for 31st place with rounds of 79-74-76 (229) and concluded his season with a 74.6 scoring average, the ninth lowest in a season in school history.

Sophomore Mitchell Moore carded a final round 79 and placed 61st overall with a 240 total (83-78-79), while senior Brendan Byrne tied for 67th place at 245 (79-80-86).

The Vikings finished the year with a 297.4 scoring average as a team, the second lowest in a season in school history.

The top five teams - Illinois, UAB, Purdue, USC and California - advanced to the NCAA Championships, along with Taylor Pendrith of Kent State who was the top individual finisher not on one of those five teams.
