SUGAR GROVE, Ill. - The Cleveland State men's golf team shot a first round 315 and is tied for 10th place of 14 teams at the NCAA Sugar Grove Regional that is being contested at the par-72, 7,151-yard Rich Harvest Farms G.C.

Andrew Bailey led the Vikings with an opening round 76 and is tied for 23rd place overall, while Brendan Byrne and Michael Balcar carded first round 79's and are tied for 38th place overall.

Pat Luth is tied for 54th place after an 81 and Mitchell Moore is tied for 65th place following an 83.

UAB leads the 14 team field after an opening round four-over-par 292, one shot ahead of Illinois. Clemson and Kent State are tied for third place at 299 with Jacksonville State and USC tied for fifth place at 302.

California is seventh (305) and is followed by UNLV (308), Purdue (309), CSU and Mississippi State (315), New Mexico State (317), Cal State Fullerton (319) and Saint Peter's (338).

Five teams in each NCAA regional - three with 13 teams and three with 14 teams -- and the low individual not on those teams will advance to the NCAA Championship final, hosted by Wichita State, May 23-28, in Hutchinson, Kan.

The second round of the NCAA Sugar Grove Regional will be played on Friday with tee times beginning at 8:00 a.m. CST off the 10th tee.

Moore will lead off CSU's five players, beginning at 8:55 a.m. CST with the Vikings playing with Mississippi State and New Mexico State.
