CSU Opens Play With Two Rounds at Robert Kepler Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Cleveland State men's golf team opened play at the Robert Kepler Invitational with rounds of 295 and 310 on Saturday at the par-71, 7,455-yard Scarlet Course at Ohio State.

CSU is in 13th place out of 15 teams as the Vikings are playing in one of the deepest, most talented fields in program history with six of the teams in the top-50 in the country.

Senior Andrew Bailey opened with a four-under-par 67 that included four birdies on the back nine to take the first round lead in the 81 player field. He shot a 77 in the afternoon and is tied for 13th place at 144 (67-77).

Junior Michael Balcar is tied for 37th place at 150 (74-76), while sophomore Mitchell Moore shot back-to-back rounds of 76 and is tied for 52nd place at 152.

The final round of the event will take place on Sunday morning.
