CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State men's golf team returns to action when the Vikings compete in the 54-hole Memphis Tiger Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday (March 31-April 1).

The event will take place at the par-72, 7,334-yard Colonial C.C.

It will be CSU's first event since the Vikings placed third out of 12 teams at the Benbow Invitational in Jacksonville, Fla., on March 10-11.

At that event, the Vikings carded rounds of 298 and 293 as senior Andrew Bailey and sophomore Mitchell Moore tied for ninth place with 36-hole totals of 147. Bailey, who notched his fifth top-10 finish in seven events this year, shot rounds of 74-73, while Moore shot 77 in the first round and carded a career-low 70 in the final round.

It was the fourth top-three finish for CSU in seven events this year. The Vikings have also finished fourth in one other event.

Bailey continues to lead the Horizon League with a 71.4 scoring average this year, almost two shots better than Detroit's Brendan Leonard who is second at 73.2. Bailey, who is on pace to break Jake Scott's CSU single season scoring average record of 72.7 in 2007-08, has carded par or better in 12 of his 19 rounds this year and has won two tournament titles.

Junior Michael Balcar ranks sixth in the league with a 74.1 scoring average, including eight rounds of par or better, while senior Brendan Byrne's 75.0 scoring average is 12th best in the league this year.

The Vikings are back in action on April 12-13 when CSU competes at the Robert Kepler Invitational in Columbus, Ohio.
