CLEVELAND, Ohio - Joey Krecic and Blake Prince have signed National Letters of Intent to join the Cleveland State men's golf program beginning with the 2014-15 season.
Krecic enjoyed an outstanding senior season at St. Edward H.S., culminating with a spot on the cleveland.com all-area team after helping the Eagles to a 10th place finish at the state tournament. Krecic placed 17th individually.
He tied for medalist honors at the sectional tournament, hitting all 18 greens in regulation en route to a two-under-par 70, the first under-par round at St. Edward in 10 years.
As a junior, Krecic earned a spot on the Plain Dealer All-Star special mention team after leading the Eagles to a ninth place finish at the state tournament.
Prince was a four-year letterwinner and the #1 player at East Liverpool in each of his four years.
He helped lead the squad to a state runner-up finish as a senior, carding a final round 72 to tie for fourth place overall.
Prince was a First Team All-Eastern District selection and the Eastern District Co-Players of the Year as a junior after helping the team place sixth in the state. He was also selected to the all-conference team as a sophomore.
He played on the Kenny Novak OH PGA Jr. Tour in the summer and was the Player of the Year in 2011 and 2012.
