Bailey Wins, CSU Finishes Second at UD Flyer Invitational

KETTERING, Ohio - Cleveland State senior Andrew Bailey shot a final round 69 to claim medalist honors at the UD Flyer Invitational and help the Vikings claim second place at the event that concluded on Tuesday at the par-70, 7,055 yard NCR Country Club.

It is the third runner-up finish for CSU this fall out of five events, which also claimed second place at the season opening Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate and the CSU Invitational. The Vikings finished the fall season with a 290 team average.

Bailey, who held the overnight lead after a first round 67, finished the 36 hole tournament at four-under-par 136 (67-69). He led the field with 11 birdies, while playing the par three's in even-par and the par four's in one-under-par.

It was the second tournament title of the fall for Bailey, who also won the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate in September and his fourth career win, tying him with Jake Scott (2005-09) for the most in CSU history.

Bailey finished the fall season with a 70.0 scoring average and top-five finishes in four of the five events. Out of the 14 rounds this fall, he fired par or better 11 times.

Sophomore Mitchell Moore posted his first top-20 finish of the fall, tying for 20th place with rounds of 72-74 (146). His opening round 72 was a career-low. Junior Michael Balcar shot rounds of 71-78 (149) and tied for 39th place.

The UD Flyer Invitational concluded the fall season for the Vikings.
