Vikings Lead After First Round of UD Flyer Invitational

KETTERING, Ohio - Cleveland State shot a four-over-par 284 and tops the 16 team field after the opening round of the UD Flyer Invitational that was played on Monday at the par-70, 7,055 yard NCR Country Club.

The Vikings hold a four shot lead over three teams - Western Kentucky, Bradley and Northern Kentucky - who all shot 288. Evansville is in fifth place at 289.

Senior Andrew Bailey fired a three-under-par 67, including a 32 on the front nine, and holds the lead in the 94 player field by one shot. Bailey made six birdies in the opening round.

Junior Michael Balcar shot a one-over-par 71, while Mitchell Moore shot a two-over-par 72. Pat Luth was CSU's fourth scorer with a 74.

As a team, the Vikings led the field with 16 total birdies and played the par three's in over-over-par, best in the field

The final round will take play on Tuesday with a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start.
