Men's Golf Opens Play at Bearcat Invitational

CINCINNATI, Ohio - Cleveland State shot an opening round 295 and is tied for fifth place out of 16 teams at the Bearcat Invitational that opened on Monday at the par-72, 7,100-yard The Traditions G.C.

The 16 team field began play in the second round, but play was halted due to darkness and will resume Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. The final round will begin afterward.

Tennessee Tech opened the tournament with a 284 and holds a one shot lead over Austin Peay (285). Marshall is third at 287 and is followed by Cincinnati (288) and CSU and Youngstown State who are tied for fifth at 295.

Senior Andrew Bailey shot an even-par round of 72 and is tied for ninth place, four shots off the lead.

Senior Brendan Byrne carded a one-over-par 73 and is tied for 18th place, while sophomore Mitchell Moore is tied for 27th place after a 74.
