Vikings in Third Place at CSU Invitational

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State shot rounds of 290 and 285 and is in third place out of 13 teams after 36 holes of the CSU Invitational that began on Monday at Barrington C.C.

Cincinnati lead the tournament after 54 holes at 20-under-par 556 (281-275), while Detroit is in second place at 565 (282-283). The Vikings are 10 back of Detroit at one-under-par 575.

Loyola is fourth at 578 and Evansville is fifth at 583 and is followed by Oakland (584), Appalachian State (586), Dayton (590), Youngstown State (595), Wright State (600), Robert Morris (604), Butler (620) and IPFW (632).

Senior Andrew Bailey is tied for fifth place after back-to-back rounds of two-under par 70 for a 36 hole total of 140. He is just three shots behind a trio of golfers who will share the overnight lead at 137.

Bailey played the par-fives in six-under-par, tops in the field. He also led the field with two eagles today.

Junior Michael Balcar carded back-to-back rounds of one-under-par 71 and is in 11th place at 142. Senior Brendan Byrne followed a 75 in the morning with a one-under-par 71 and is tied for 22nd place at 146.

Sophomore Mitchell Moore shot 74-73 (147) and is tied for 25th place.

Freshman Pat Luth, playing as an individual, had back-to-back even rounds of 72 and is tied for 16th place at 144.

The final round of the tournament will be played on Tuesday with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m.
