VERONA, N.Y. - Cleveland State shot a final round 302 and moved up one spot to finish seventh of 13 teams at the Turning Stone Invitational that concluded on Monday.

The 54-hole event was hosted by Missouri at the par-72, 7,105-yard Kaluhyat Course at the Turning Stone Resort.

CSU shot rounds of 305 and 293 yesterday.

"The wind was definitely a factor today, but the guys really hung tough and battled all the way around the course," head coach Steve Weir said. "Overall, I thought we had a pretty good tournament to open the season, but there are still some things we have to work on moving forward."

Missouri won the tournament with a 54-hole total of 842, 19 shots better than second place Louisville (861). Memphis was third at 866 and followed by Central Connecticut State (890), IPFW (891), Villanova (897), CSU (900), Loyola (901), Army (910), Canisius (920), Delaware (923), Cincinnati (926) and Saint Peter's (927).

Andrew Bailey was CSU's top finisher, tying for 12th place with rounds of 70-73-75 (218), while Jon Riemer tied for 19th place at 220 (76-70-74).

Michael Klaric had CSU's low round today, carding a 73 en route to tying for 44th place at 232 (81-78-73).

Michael Balcar had a strong showing as an individual, tying for 12th place at 218. He followed yesterday's rounds of 74 and 71 with a 73 today.

The Vikings are back in action on Sept. 10-11 at the Marshall Fall Invitational.
