ORLANDO, Fla. - The Cleveland State men's golf team opened its spring season by splitting two matches at The Match Play on Monday at Reunion Resort. CSU began the day by falling to DePaul, 4-3, but rallied to defeat Seton Hall, 7-0, in the afternoon match.

Brendan Byrne earned CSU's first point of the day against DePaul with a 5&4 win. Andrew Baileywon 5&3 and Michael Bishop picked up a 2&1 win, but the Blue Demons went on to win the other four matches to clinch the win.

The Vikings cruised to a convincing 7-0 win in the afternoon as Bailey, Byrne and Bishop all won again. Michael Klaric, Jon Riemer, Mike Balcar and Keith Brooks also won their afternoon matches.

CSU concludes play at The Match Play on Tuesday (Feb. 12) when the Vikings play Marquette.
