ORLANDO, Fla. - The Cleveland State men's golf team opened the spring season by splitting a pair of matches at The Match Play at Reunion Resort. CSU dropped its first match to DePaul, 4-3, but rallied to earn a 7-0 win over Seton Hall.

Brendan Byrne secured CSU's first point in the match against DePaul, picking up a 5&4 win.Andrew Bailey won 5&3 and Mike Bishop earned a 2&1 win, but the Vikings came up just short in the final tally.

The Vikings came back in the final match of the day to earn a convincing win over Seton Hall as Bailey, Byrne and Bishop all won again. Michael Klaric, Jon Riemer, Mike Balcar and Keith Brooksalso won their matches.

CSU concludes play at The Match Play on Tuesday (Feb. 12) when the Vikings play against Marquette.
