HUNTINGTON, W. Va. - Cleveland State shot a final round 287 and finished ninth of 15 teams at the Marshall Invitational that concluded on Tuesday at the par-71, 6,573-yard Guyan Golf and Country Club.

"It was a little disappointing to fall a few spots today," head coach Steve Weir said. "We didn't get off to a very good start, but hung around and battled, especially the last few holes where we were able to make some birdies. Overall, we didn't putt very good. It's encouraging that we are not playing our best and putting up some decent numbers, but we do have to get some things straightened out moving forward."

The Vikings had three players - Andrew Bailey, Michael Balcar and Jon Riemer - shoot even par 71's in today's final round.

Bailey wound up tying for 12th place with a 54-hole total of 213 (69-73-71), while Balcar tied for 19th place at 216 (73-72-71).Michael Klaric followed yesterday's rounds of 70-77 with a 74 today and tied for 44th place at 221. Riemer battled all the way back from his opening round 80 to post scores of 72-71 (223 total) and tie for 56th place.

CSU is back in action at the John Piper Invitational on Sept. 17-18.
