CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State junior Andrew Bailey (Rocky River, Ohio) has been named the Horizon League Men's Golfer of the Year for the second straight season, while senior Jon Riemer (Lyndhurst, Ohio) and sophomore Michael Balcar (Toledo, Ohio) joined him on the all-league first team.

The league made the announcement on Thursday night at the end-of-the-year awards banquet in Florida leading up to this weekend's Horizon League Championship.

This marks the second time in three years that CSU had three players on the all-league first team. Bailey, Michael Klaric and Kent Monas were all selected in 2011.

Bailey, who is making his third straight appearance on the all-league first team, was also the Horizon League Newcomer of the Year in 2011. He is just the second player in Horizon League history to earn back-to-back Player of the Year honors, joining Detroit's Mark Sommerfield who won the award from 2006-08.

Bailey leads the Vikings with a 72.8 scoring average this year, the second lowest in a season in program history behind Jake Scott's 72.7 in 2007-08. In addition, Bailey leads the team with 11 rounds of par or better, including a team-best 67 at the Benbow Invitational on March 12. He has two top-five finishes, four top-10's and seven top 20's this season.

His career scoring average of 73.9 is tops in CSU history.

Riemer is making his first appearance on the all-league team after ranking second on the squad with a 74.7 scoring average. He is second on the team with eight rounds of par or better and has a pair of top-five and top-10 finishes. A member of the Horizon League All-Tournament team last year, Riemer shot a career-low 68 at the CSU Invitational in the fall.

Balcar is also making his first appearance on the all-league team after posting a 75.0 scoring average this year, ranking third on the team. He recorded five rounds of par or better this year, including rounds of 71-70 to open the Detroit Invitational two weeks ago en route to a tie for sixth place.

The Vikings begin play in the Horizon League Championship on Friday (April 26) in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla., at Mission Inn.
