HIGHLAND, Mich. - Cleveland State shot rounds of 294 and 299 and is tied for second place of 12 teams after the first day of the Detroit Titans Invitational. The event is being played at the par-72, 7,142-yard Prestwick Village G.C.

Sophomore Michael Balcar, playing as an individual, is tied for the lead at three-under-par 141, firing rounds of 71 and 70 today.

Detroit leads the 12 team field at 585 (289-296), while CSU is tied with Youngstown State (287-306). Valparaiso is fourth (604) and is followed by Oakland (605), Canisius (607), Green Bay (608), Wright State (612), Ioan (617), Madonna (622), Valapraiso "B" (625) and Humber (630).

Balcar was tied for fourth place after his one-under-par 71 in the morning, but moved into a tie for the lead with a two-under-par 70 in the afternoon. He was the only player in the 72 person field to shoot two under par rounds today.

Andrew Bailey is in fifth place, just three shots out of the lead, after rounds of 71-73 (144), while Mitchell Moore played two solid with rounds of 73-75 (148) and is tied for 17th place. Moore was making his spring debut for CSU.

Jon Riemer is tied for 17th place after rounds of 74-76 (150).

The final round of the event is slated to begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday (April 13).
